About Me

My name is Tikara, a wife and mother of twin girls who are 2 years old going on 30.  I am 29, graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2011.  I met my husband while at college and got married in 2012.  We decided to immediately let God decide when to start a family, therefore we did not have any restrictions on family planning.  It was shortly after we got married that my life, career goals and interests changed.  In this blog, I will discuss our struggle with infertility which ultimately led to many blessings and open doors in our lives.

During my fertility journey I discovered the world of Youtube and its platform for individuals, businesses and organizations to expand their reach across the world.  My goal for this blog is to simply help others while documenting my everyday life.  While thinking of a particular topic, there were tons going through my mind, however, the most useful to me as a mother has been those that are derived from moms who are simply displaying their everyday life; so that people who are looking for tips, inspiration or encouragement can get just that at the tip of their fingers.

I hope that you find interest and come along for the ride.  Welcome to Mommy's World and Beyond where a girl with a dream documents her journey through life's successes.

DIY Glass Stovetop Cleaner

Using three simple ingredients you can remove all of that burnt on food to get your glass stove top sparkling like new. This combination is very much like a soft scrub, save money with this simple at-home method! Ingredients: -Baking soda of any brand -Mrs. Meyers dish soap -Water Directions: In small dish or bowl, combine a small amount of baking soda and dish soap with water to form a paste.  I recommend Mrs. Meyers dish soap for it's natural properties and lovely fragrances. Using a sponge, dab the paste onto the stove top until fully covered.  Let sit and scrub clean with the sponge to reveal a sparkling shine!  Dry with a damp cloth until  all residue from the baking soda is gone.

How We Met

My freshman year of college consisted of many days spent in my dorm room, doing work and....sleeping.  I wasn't much of a social butterfly before college and that really didn't change throughout those years.  I stayed in Pride Hall at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NCAT).  Little did I know, my husband also stayed in the same dorm hall. I made friends who I would go to the cafe with, hangout with in each other's rooms and make quick trips to find food off campus.  There was one guy who I had not met but knew of through my friends.  One day I was told that a guy named Clint really liked me and wanted to get to know me.  Something really funny is that I knew of another guy named Clint, who I was somewhat attracted to, that stayed on the floor below me.  The whole time my friends and I talked about "Clint", I thought we were talking about the guy downstairs, however it wasn't the same person. Once I figured out which Cli...

Mommy Indulgence #1 - My "Me Time" Favorites

We have all heard the phrase that mom's get "no days off".  This is true, very true.  So what do I do when I do get these rare days off?  Ok wait, unless I am in a totally different city and state from my girls, I do not get any days off!  It's more like a few hours to myself, and I better enjoy them because as soon as I'm back home it's time to clock back in.  I'll be revealing my most favorite things to do during "me time" in a series of posts, subscribe to the blog to follow along. Simple outings to my favorite store, Target, rejuvenate me like I've been to the spa.  Going up and down the household cleaning product aisles is like Christmas in (insert current Month here)!  No matter what I go to Target for, I always end up in the household cleaning product section before going to get what  I've gone for.  The smell of cleanliness and items lined perfectly on the shelves helps to curb my desire for the same in my home.  It takes ...
